I been lookin’ for an excuse to go down, see Pip, chat ‘er up. I noticed she came inta work lookin’ a bit…more…pippy few weeks ago. Been meanin’ to ask her about it, but never have quite got the chance. Fred and I been inventin’ up a storm for the coming summer.

Well, now I got an excuse. Our newest show of genius is tested and ready for production, so I take it down to Pip’s mad laboratory.

I push the door open, and there’s our Pip, hair pulled back, stirring a madly bubbling cauldron an’ hummin’ to herself.

I take the new recipe the clone and I’ve perfected and patented, and make a few copies, put some protection spells on ‘em, laminate ‘em, seal ‘em, and pray to Pads that Pip doesn’t incinerate ‘em.

“Gonna go run this down into the mad scientist’s laboratory. Pray to The Three I come back in one piece,” I tell Fred, pocketing one of the Ultra-Recipes.

I leave Fred laughing, yet promising his prayers, and trot on down the stairs into Pip’s den. “Oi!” I call in. “Genius entering. Make way.”

“Come on in, Fred and/or George,” Pip calls back.

“Got something new for you to try-and-not-blow-up,” I say.

( Cool. )

Never been in Pip’s neighbourhood. When she said Whitechapel, I pictured it quite a bit seedier. Dunno, that burly bloke what looks about as friendly as a rugby tussle in a maelstrom, standin’ out front ‘er place makes me feel right at home!

Said bloke gives me the glare-down as I open up the door.

“Evenin’ gent,” I greet ‘im.

He mutters something about how I’m not the usual bloke and shuffles away from the door.

“Predictability’s overrated,” I tell ‘im and head on up to Pip’s door.

The Princess desires treats. And what Princess Reginald Bartholomew Kneazley wants, Princess Reginald Bartholomew Kneazley almost always gets. Within reason, you understand. No ponies for my princess.

I slip into the back, leaving Fred and Miles up front to wizard the shop, and head for the break room.

I’m just passing Pip’s workroom, when the door springs open and a flash of blonde hair jumps me, squealing ( Gotcha! )
